Position: Branch Supervisor
Reports to: Branch Manager
Department: Business
Job Summary: The role will be responsible for delivering excellent customer experience through sound team leadership, operational effectiveness and efficiency while ensuring compliance with laid down policies and procedures. The job holder will also be responsible for supporting business growth through lead generation and cross sells for the team and self.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational efficiency:
- Ensure adherence to policies, processes, procedures as per documented operating standards (SOPs & Operations Manual) including compliance with AML/KYC guidelines.
- Ensure effective and timely resolution of all operational audit issues at the branch.
- Prepare and submit all operational reports as required, including the daily cash register, end-of-the-month reports and ensure timely reporting of suspicious transactions.
- Ensure Branch risk registers & KRIs are up to date, and event/loss incidents are maintained /reported as per stipulated timelines.
- Preparation of monthly Risk Control Self assessments and timely submission as required.
- Management of the branch snap checking processes and related corrective actions.
- Timely processing and verification non-cash transactions i.e. EFTS, RTGS, Cheques, salaries, standing orders, drafts, fixed deposits etc. within stipulated operations guidelines
Business growth:
- Spearhead growth of key business indicators (assets and liabilities) through lead generation and cross sells.
- Ensure regular performance updates to the team whilst tracking of agreed action points or corrective measures.
Service quality:
- To offer customer satisfaction through operational effectiveness, efficiency and acceptable turnaround time on all transactions.
- Ensure timely customer complaint resolution so as to maintain seamless customer experience.
Branch administration:
- Play a supporting role to the Branch Manager in terms of branch leadership
- Motivate, coach and develop a high performing team.
- Ensure that Branch service providers are properly introduced, verified and monitored.
- Ensure Business Continuity and optimal resource allocation/utilization.
Daily responsibilities:
- Ensure authorization of customer transactions and remittances within approved limits while confirming that staff followed the set requirements.
- Ensure collection of all revenue due to the Bank.
- Ensure that all branch internal accounts are reconciled daily and items resolved at all times as guided by reconciliation procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all defined authorization and/or cash holding limits as well as other communicated limits within the branch.
- Perform custodial duties as stipulated by Standard Operating Procedures.
- Accurate and timely remitting of mandatory returns and financial reports to all related stakeholders.
- Daily adequate security of Bank’s assets, premises and staff.
- Maintain an updated asset register at all times.
- Management of branch petty cash as per procedural guidelines
- Daily proper cash management within the branch and maintenance of sufficient cash reserves within approved limits for daily transactions.
- Checking account opening files to ensure that they are complete before being opened for transactions
- General supervision of branch staff and their work as per job descriptions
- Daily tracking of business performance whilst implementing corrective actions
- Any other official roles as assigned by your supervisors
Education & Experience.
- A bachelor’s degree
- Professional qualification (Added advantage)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in banking, of which at least 2 years must have been in a supervisory role.
