Job Purpose
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Operate as requested by dispatch staff including demand/ response trips during traditional and non-traditional days and work hours;
2. Regularly perform trip validations bus stop checks gate/ site and field checks, equipment transfers and shuttles;
3. Inspect bus cleanliness and body condition and inventory assistance for safety and accessory component;
4. Complete and submit field trip report
5. Provide bus safety education presentations to various individuals, driver assistance for non-police emergencies;
6. Prepare and submits reports identifying discrepancies in equipment and bus parts;
7. Provide mentoring with their specific knowledge on driving technique and strategies to other University drivers as assigned;
8. Operate all types and sizes of buses with minimum notification and preparation;
9. Collect and submit other data on university bus operations as assigned;
10. Maintain effective professional working relationships;
11. Regularly attend and/or participate in mandated instruction/training classes for specialized driving skills during traditional and nontraditional workdays and work hours;
12. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
i. UCE Certificate;
ii. Valid Driver’s license under Class DE
Experience: At least two years’ bus driving.
Tenure of Appointment: 4-year contract
