SafeBoda is a Ugandan-based startup that aims to make motorcycle taxis (bodas) and cars more safe, affordable, and convenient across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a goal to change the perception of public transportation as unsafe and disorganized by providing a safe and reliable service that is accessible to all.
Job Summary: As the Business Growth Associate, you will play a central role in SafeBoda’s growth strategy. You will work directly with the Senior Growth Manager on running pricing and other experiments to drive growth and improve our marketplace. You will help facilitate key business decisions through research, data analysis, and collaboration with different teams charged with managing supply and demand.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to continually identify trends and present ideas for experimentation
- Implement growth experiments and programs as agreed by team leads
- Implement agreed-upon growth initiatives in collaboration with Marketing, Operations, and Product teams; monitor timelines, resolve or escalate blockers, and deliver actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain the repository of growth experiments, ensuring they are readily available to the appropriate business teams
- Conduct fieldwork to gain and maintain a solid understanding of marketplace dynamics
- Conduct and share market research on developments in ride-hailing and other industries that could be applied to SafeBoda
- Maintain strong knowledge of SafeBoda’s products and services to ensure relevant and informed business interactions
- Maintain and automate accurate Growth dashboards, reporting tools, and metric documentation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics or a related field
- A strong data background – You are comfortable creating, managing, and analysing large datasets using a range of programmes, including Python and Google Sheets; basic knowledge of PostgreSQL is a plus
- Proven success in data analytics projects – academic or professional
