Job details:
Provide strategic leadership in building, growing, and sustaining a high-quality SME loan portfolio in line with Platinum Credit Uganda Ltd.’s business strategy and objectives.
Key duties/responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regional sales and distribution strategies to achieve individual and regional disbursement targets while growing the SME client base.
- Lead the execution of portfolio quality strategies and initiatives to achieve agreed collection and risk targets.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, retention, training, and coaching of SME staff to drive portfolio growth and quality.
- Provide operational leadership to ensure compliance with loan origination, appraisal, approval, monitoring, and Delinquency Escalation processes to safeguard portfolio quality.
- Monitor SME market trends and competitor activity to inform business strategies, product enhancements, and customer solutions.
- Conduct regular branch visits to support teams, monitor performance, and promptly resolve operational challenges.
- Lead performance management through coaching, corrective action, documentation, and appraisals to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Champion quality management standards and process adherence to deliver operational excellence and superior customer service.

- Strong sales leadership, staff recruitment, business development and customer service skills.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email applications.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
Required Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a sales leadership role, preferably within a financial institution.
- Professional qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an added advantage.
