SITE & INSTALLATION SUPERVISOR

Description

Modern Living is looking for hands-on Site & Installation Supervisors to oversee our furniture and interior installations across Uganda.

This person will be our eyes and ears on site, making sure that what has been designed and produced translates properly into the finished installation at the client’s premises.

You will work closely with our interior designers, production team, carpenters and clients to keep projects organized, solve problems quickly and maintain Modern Living’s quality standards on

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of Modern Living installations across multiple sites at the same time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising carpenters and installers and ensuring they remain productive & professional

• Coordinating between teams on site and the interior designers managing projects
• Planning and prioritizing work across several active sites
• Supervising installations and validate finishing standards to ensure consistent quality
• Differences tracking between drawings, measurements and the reality on site
• Recording and communicating client-requested and changes before they are implemented + Ensuring sites are properly prepared before installation to minimize back-and-forth
• Keeping track of furniture, materials, fittings, tools and other items sent to site
• Maintaining clear records of what has been delivered, used, returned or remains outstanding Sending clear progress updates, photographs and site reports to designers & project team
• Ensuring the team keeps the client’s property and working area clean, safe and organized + Following up on repairs and outstanding works until the project is properly completed

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is VERY organized, practical, observant and comfortable managing people.

You should have:

+ Good practical knowledge of carpentry, construction, furniture installation, joinery, interior design or fit-out works

• Previous experience managing multiple sites or projects at the same time
• Strong planning, prioritization and follow-up skills
• The ability to recognize poor workmanship and finishing defects
• The ability to take measurements and understand drawings and dimensions
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when the reality on site differs from the plan
• Confidence supervising carpenters and artisans and holding people accountable
• Good communication skills and professionalism around clients
• Strong attention to detail and the discipline to keep accurate records + Ability to report using WhatsApp, photographs and simple written updates

Basic bookkeeping, accounting or stock-control knowledge is a strong advantage

A valid driving permit is also a strong advantage, but is not mandatory.
